Expertise
Troy is qualified as both a Chartered Accountant
and Solicitor.
With over ten years experience in commercial law and forensic
accounting.
He is regularly retained as an expert accountant in disputes
that involve financial issues by legal firms and regulatory authorities,
such as the Australian Federal Police.
He has been nominated as an expert accountant by the President
of the Law Society of NSW and President of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants.
He has provided expert accounting evidence to the Supreme
Court of New South Wales, Supreme Court of Victoria, Supreme
Court of Queensland, Federal Court of Australia and District
Court of NSW.
The disputes have involved medium sized companies to large
multinational organisations in a variety of industries such as
insurance, finance, IT, building and construction, franchising,
telecommunications, entertainment, hospitality, manufacturing
and retail.
He regularly presents seminars for the Law Society of NSW
and the Law Institute of Victoria on a range of topics such
as:
- How to read a Financial Report
- Quantifying Damages in Commercial Disputes
- Forensic Accounting for Lawyers
He has been invited by Lexis Nexis to present the above series
of seminars to lawyers and barristers in Singapore and Malaysia.
He has completed a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Studies
(Accounting) at Monash University, and received expert witness
skills training from Professor George Hampel QC, retired Justice
of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
He is currently completing a postgraduate masters at the University
of New South Wales in Commercial Law.
He is the Honorary Solicitor of the RSL Veterans Retirement Village
at Narrabeen. Over the past six years he has attended the Village
one day each month to provide pro bono legal and accounting services
to the residents.
